PROJECTS IN DETAILS

Sheep Farming

MIRDU on commencement of this project will centralize the management of this project to ensure that the people understand it properly.

The 1st phase of implementation will be managed by MIRDU for a period of one and a half years when the sheep are producing to ensure that they can give to other Muslims in the selected Mosques.  We expect to issue 20 female sheep and 2 male sheep to a selected mosque which is prepared to run this project like MIRDU at an interval of 6 Months after the 1st issuing, MIRDU will issue 22 sheep (20 Female and 2 male) to the second mosques which will have been selected and proved to be ready to undertake the project. For MIRDA as the initiator, the cycle will continue like that up to the 3rd mosque.

The same method will be used to each of the mosques that will have received sheep as input for this project. However, MIRDU will take the overall responsibility of monitoring the project in terms of identifying the mosques to benefit and ensuring that the mosques that received the input/sheep do issue to more three mosques at a rate of 22 sheep (22 female and 2 male) per mosque before the group becomes independent.

After the group/mosque has become independent, it will then have the responsibility of issuing sheep to households in their respective mosques where the project belongs.

At the mosque level, the sheep project will be managed by the mosque committee where the Imam will be inclusive.
